Minnesota requirements for kindergarten entrance are:
- Child must be five years of age by Sept. 1, 2017.
- Child must have all required immunizations to enter school (unless parents have filed a medical exemption signed by a health care provider or a notarized conscientious objection signed by the parent or guardian).
- Child must have early childhood screening before starting kindergarten. Appointments can be anytime between age 3 and the start of kindergarten, but it is recommended screening be completed before the age of 4.
Screenings are done at the Inver Grove Heights Early Learning Center at 3203 68th St East (next to Hilltop Elementary). Call 651-306-7520 to schedule an appointment.
- Please bring a copy of your child's birth certificate, baptismal certificate or other verification of his/her legal name and birth date when registering your child in ISD 199 schools.
Inver Grove Heights Community Schools offers free all-day kindergarten.
If you have not registered your child for kindergarten in ISD 199 and/or are seeking enrollment in a kindergarten program please contact the district office at 651-306-7825.

If your child is to be picked up at an address other than his or her home address (for example, daycare) be sure to complete that portion on the enrollment form
