District Make-Up Information Due to Weather Related Closings
The State of Minnesota has a specific hour and day requirement for public school students. At this point in time most of the students of ISD 199 fall within the requirements of the State with the exception of our seniors in Grade 12. High school seniors are currently short of the hours to meet the State’s requirements. Simley High School Principal Jerry Sakala has developed a strategy to address this missing requirement for our 12th grade students. Please see the link below for further information regarding that strategy.

K-5 Elementary Level Make-Up Planning
With the exception of 12th grade students, the District is not intending to add additional student instructional days to the end of the 2013-2014 school calendar for any other grade level as a result of the recent closings. Because ISD 199 knows how vital student instructional time is to our students' success, the principals may amend activities already planned in the buildings to gain back student instructional time within the current calendar.
In the event that we have another school cancellation for any reason, the District will need to review the hour/day requirement status again at that time to determine where instructional hours will be added. We sympathize with how difficult these school closings can be on students, parents and staff and very much hope for an early and trouble free spring.
