Ms. Haak will mentor other teachers aboard the Sailing Vessel Denis Sullivan during a research workshopLast summer, Simley High School science teacher Lori Haak spent a week on Lake Huron learning about the Great Lakes to develop more relevant curriculum for her students. She worked to bring her research on the Great Lakes to the students who live so close to the Mississippi River. This summer, she will spend a week on Lake Michigan. Aboard the Sailing Vessel Denis Sullivan, she will mentor other teachers from Minnesota and Wisconsin. Ms. Haak will help the teachers learn about the lakes and update their own lessons while learning more about Lake Michigan herself. The crew of educators will be on the lake August 7-14.
