 Atheneum Timeline and Eligibility Process

Below is our placement criteria needed for eligibility:



  • Step 1 - MAP: NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing will need to be completed for both math and reading by scheduling testing. Scores are accepted by receiving a copy of an official score reports from your home school district. Please note that the MAP testing is a computer-based assessment and we are able to complete this complimentary assessment in ISD 199 with an appointment.
  • Step 2 - CogAT: The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) is a computer-based assessment that measures verbal, quantitative and nonverbal reasoning skills. For out of district students, the material and scoring assessment fee is $25 to complete this assessment in IGH. Payments must be received prior to administering the assessment. Copies of official CogAT score reports from another school district will be accepted as long as the assessment was given within the last 12 months.
  • Step 3 - Parent Inventory: The students parent/guardian will need to complete the Parent Inventory for their child. Please click here to print and complete the parent inventory.
  • Step 4 - WISC-V: Families will be notified if their child meets the targeted or considered criteria above to continue in the final step of the assessment process. If the family chooses to continue in the assessment process, the student will then have a Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V) scheduled. The materials and scoring fee is $150. The WISC assessment covers the following subtests: verbal comprehension, visual spatial, fluid reasoning, working memory and processing speed. Payments must be received prior to administering the assessment.
